Trip Cancellation and Interruption Protection
Should you need to cancel or interrupt your cruise for covered reasons (such as an unforeseen medical condition affecting you, your travelling companion, or an immediate family member), you would be reimbursed for covered cancellation penalties and/or the value of the unused portion of your trip and other covered expenses, up to your full cruise vacation cost.
Should you miss the departure of your cruise due to weather-related flight cancellations, equipment failure of an aircraft, or other covered reasons, you would be reimbursed for reasonable additional expenses for accommodations, meals and one-way economy transportation.
Baggage and Personal Effects Protection
If your baggage or its contents were to be lost, stolen or damaged, you would be reimbursed for the cost of repair or replacement.
If your checked baggage were delayed for over 24 hours, the plan would reimburse you for your purchase of essential items.
Accident and Sickness Medical Expenses and Emergency Evacuation
Should you experience a covered sickness or injury during your cruise vacation, you would be reimbursed for your covered medical expenses. In addition, GuestCare would also arrange for, and pay the cost of, emergency air or ground ambulance transportation in the event of a medical emergency. These are especially valuable benefits because Medicare and many private insurance policies generally do not cover medical expenses incurred overseas.
Coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions
Many travel insurance plans do not provide coverage to travellers who must cancel or interrupt their trip as the result of a medical condition that existed at the time the plan is purchased. Unlike those plans, Silversea has arranged for the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion to be waived from the GuestCare plan, if the plan cost is paid no later than your final trip payment.

*NOTE: Maximum Cruise Vacation Cost for World Cruise may not exceed $70,000 per guest ($140,000 for single suite occupancy). For all other cruises, the maximum Cruise Vacation Cost may not exceed $50,000 per guest ($100,000 for single suite occupancy).
This plan provides cancellation coverage for your trip and other insurance coverages that apply only during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer, insurance agent or broker.
Silversea encourages the purchase of the optional Silversea GuestCare plan for the full purchase price of your cruise as well as air and/or land programme costs to safeguard your investment and provide peace of mind during your travels. Silversea’s cancellation penalties are strictly enforced. For your convenience, if you (or your travel professional) has indicated you wish to purchase GuestCare, the cost of the program, which is based upon your total vacation price, will be included upon your cruise invoice. To receive this valuable protection, simply remit the amount indicated to your travel agent along with your cruise payment.
